The Greenway offers a wealth of opportunities for those with an interest in geology. The Warwickshire Geological Conservation Group (WGCG) is responsible for the identification of Local Geological Sites in Warwickshire and is an active partner of The Greenway Trust.

A Local Geological Site has been designated in the former cutting behind Woodland Road in Kenilworth (Grid Reference: SP 2986 7326). This comprises an “exposure of the Permian Kenilworth Sandstone Formation (Warwickshire Group) on the East side of disused railway cutting”.
